Every year since sometime in the 1920's the residents of a couple of blocks of Peacock Lane in southeast Portland decorate for Christmas. And when they decorate it is serious business. December 15th through 31st every single house puts up lights, ornaments, nativity scenes and all kinds of stuff. I went down there the other day to check out what they had going on, and here's what I found. More stuff to be found in the linked Flickr set.
