Aeon

Aeon

This is a role-playing book I bought back when I worked at a gaming/comic store in Ann Arbor.  Aeon is a science fiction game released by White Wolf, better known for their Vampire, Changling, Mage and other occult and fantasy games.  On release the title was deemed to be too close to infringing the copyright of MTV’s Aeon Flux, so the game was re-released as Trinity and all copies of Aeon were recalled.  Some were affixed with stickers over the front with the new name.  I decided to keep mine as it was originally released.

The book itself is pretty weird, as RPG games go.  The cover is a plastic fold-over thing, like a top secret dossier or something and the book is basically a large spiral bound pamphlet. I can’t imagine many copies of this book will survive for long.  I’ve only played the game a few times, but I’ve kept this around for its amusement factor.

The game is a pretty straightforward White Wolf d10 system, and was actually pretty fun from what I remember.  The interesting parts were in the setting, which is a somewhat near future that had China as the global superpower, France in ruins after an orbiting space station fell into it, the US as fascist corporate wasteland or something like that and various other fun twists.
