    A Few Resolutions

Ok so I have made a couple of Resolutions for the New Year related to writing and thought I would document them here:

    1. I will write something that ends. I have this problem with starting many things and letting them sort of trail off a bit until I forget where I was going with it. So I want to finish something that I can nurture and improve with edits and what not.
    2. I will keep a reading log. I read a lot of good stuff this year, but I can’t for the life of me remember it all. So I will strive to write a review of everything I read next year and post it here for your edification.

And I think that’s about it for now. Another thing I need to do is fiddle with the style sheet for this site so that it is not quite so hideous, but that is a small thing and does not merit more than a to-do item in my calendar. Need to figure out paragraph spacing.

    A poor host

So I think it may be time to expand the scope of this modest blog.  I haven’t had the time or inclination to do much fiction writing lately, so perhaps if I opened things up for more general discussion I would be more inclined to write here more often.

Certain changes to Livejournal, and a desire to have my blog hosted somewhere of my own control mean that I have been
considering leaving that place behind, and staying here instead.  With OpenID that would mean that all of my friends form that place could comment here if they wanted, and with crossposting tools, I could update both my LJ and this place at once.

Anyway, I don’t think I’m ready to give up LJ altogether yet.  The ability to lock down posts is nice, and there are other perks as well.  But I don’t know if I really want to continue to pay for service there anymore. Anyway, something to think about.

I totally dig this OpenID system. And since I have your blog in my RSS reader, I won’t miss a beat if you decide to move.
